Bristol Launches Award-Winning Residential Solar Program

October 25, 2016

The City of Bristol has been selected to participate in an award-winning residential solar program that makes going solar easy and affordable. Solarize Bristol is part of Solarize Connecticut — the groundbreaking residential solar program sparked by Connecticut’s Green Bank through a partnership with the non-profit organization, SmartPower. Solarize Connecticut has helped thousands of Connecticut residents save money on energy bills by going solar.

Solarize Bristol is a coordinated effort across the community, supported by the City of Bristol. Through a competitive selection process, the City has selected All Green It Solar as their solar installer. All Green It Solar will provide all the solar installations in Bristol in exchange for special discount pricing.

The Solarize Bristol program will host an educational workshop on Wednesday, November 2nd, from 7 pm to 8:30 pm at the Bristol Library, 5 High Street, Bristol. For those who can’t make it, another workshop will be offered at the Bristol Library on Wednesday, December 7th at 7 pm. Residents can learn about the program, be introduced to their solar installer, hear about financing options, and have a chance to learn if their house is good for solar.

Homeowners who want to get started finding out if their home is good for solar can go directly to Solarizect.com/Bristol to “Get Started.”

“The City of Bristol is excited to partner with Solarize Connecticut to bring affordable solar power to the residents in the community,” states Mayor Kenneth Cockayne. “With so many different ways to go solar today, we endorse Solarize Bristol as a stream-lined, vetted, simple way to help residents explore generating their own power with a local installer. We encourage residents to consider solar for their homes to increase generation of clean energy and decrease dependence on fossil fuels. The City of Bristol urges residents to attend one of the upcoming informational sessions to learn how to participate in this program.”

Solarize is an increasingly popular program that increases residential solar through a proven formula. It relies on an on-the-ground outreach campaign provided through the City that helps educate consumers. The pre-selected solar installer means residents are getting the best possible price and equipment, specifically chosen for Bristol residents. And special financing makes going solar affordable.
