Check Out the Farmers Market at The Patch Downtown

Have you heard about the new Farmer’s Market at the Patch Downtown yet? As of June 24, the City of Bristol’s Mayor and City Council approved the development of a green space, now known as “The PatchDowntown”.

The Patch, located at the corner of North Main Street and Riverside Ave, is to be utilized by the community of Bristol to hold events to bring the City together in efforts to revitalize downtown Bristol, provide vitality and community connection in the heart of our community, and to spread Bristol’s All Heart culture. And good news, it’s working! The first tenant at the new community space is Bristol’s newly refreshed and reloaded Farmer’s Market!

Now called the Farmer’s Market at the Patch Downtown,it is an effort born from a partnership between The Bristol Chamber of Commerce, City of Bristol, and Northwest Family Farm Cooperative to bring local farmers, artisans, producers, fresh food, healthy lifestyles, and passion to the City center.   The first Farmer’s Market took place on June 24th and has been a hit!

The market, while quaint, aims to continue to grow organically this year and beyond. The markets will continue each Wednesday at 3p-6p and Saturdayat 10a-1p through Halloween. Gresczyk Farms, a market cornerstone with a large setup, has participated each week with their fresh and locally grown agricultural products bringing the freshest produce and ingredients right to the homes of Bristol residents and our extended communities.

Other participants have included Tonn’s Orchard with fresh seasonal fruits and veggies, Just a Little Something, who specializes in unique cakepops, cakeballs, stuffed cookies, and more sweet treats, Twin Pine Farm who are famous for homemade jams, relishes and vinegars, and cheese, and Ridge Runner Soap Co. LLC, who specialize in all-natural, chemical free, hand-crafted vegan and vegetarian soaps.

With the freshest produce, delicious jams and jellies made with love, beautiful plants, and scrumptious sweet treats, it’s no surprise that the Farmer’s Market is a hit. Seeing the community come together to support our own local producers while displaying Bristol All Heart pride is exactly what the Farmer’s Market stands for, and with your support the market can continue to grow!

The Farmer’s Market may be the first event to take place at The Patch Downtown but it won’t be the only event for long. The Bristol Youth Symphony Concert will be performing at The Patch Downtown on August 22nd, and classic movie nights are being scheduled for the community to be hosted by the Witch’s Dungeon Classic Movie Museum. Bristol is hopeful for more public events utilizing this new space to bring life into the heart of our City and to create a local bond like no other. That’s where you come in! Support, create, and enjoy. See you at the next market at The Patch Downtown!
