Jay Maia, the Director of Club Division Units for the Bristol Boys and Girls Club has been recognized as 1 of 11 Boys and Girls Club Officials nationwide (4,200 clubs total) to be awarded the 2015 Maytag Dependable Leader. Maia is truly committed to making a difference and helping the youth of Bristol reach their full potential. He is dedicated to the success of the youth of Bristol and has selflessly been a dependable role model for all.As a recipient of the Maytag Dependable Leader Award, Maia’s has been rewarded with a $20,000 grant, which will go towards the Bristol Boys and Girls club members who are pursuing post-high school education and other opportunities.
According to the Boys and Girls Club Press Release, Jay Maia stated, “I am thankful for my staff, our board and all of those who have provided support and guidance over the years. As a team, we have all worked hard to provide opportunities for children from a variety of backgrounds.” Maia plans on using the grant to help Boys and Girls Club members to pursue opportunities and their dreams that would not be possible without.”It is just another way that we can make life better for the children we serve,” says Maia.
