Show What Bristol Means to You in #BristolSquared

How do you see Bristol? Do you see Bristol through the glasses resting on your face, through a camera lens, through your cell phone as you Instagram or SnapChat away or perhaps through the way you interpret your surroundings with a paint brush, or even some charcoal? Do you find beauty in Bristol’s architecture or rather it’s nature, or maybe even both? The Studio wants to know just what Bristol represents to you for their first juried show, Bristol Squared!

img_3651Whether you get excited about the glistening first snow fall of the season or the pattern of freshly cut green grass, The Studio wants you to share what makes Bristol, Bristol through your eyes. To participate, create or select your favorite photographs, paintings, mixed media drawings that represent Bristol to you. Artwork must be square and no large than 12 x 12 to qualify. All pieces of artwork must be ready to hang, either framed, matted or mounted on foamboard. The show will be juried by Bristol’s very own Lindsay Vigue. Vigue is a local accomplished photographer, & Bristol Art Squad Captain. For more information about Vigue, check out her biography here and her work here. There is a $5 entry fee for the juried show but you may also submit artwork for free if you do not wish to participate in the jury portion. Juried awards include 1st, 2nd, 3rd, honorable mention and a possible people’s choice.

Ginger Grant, of The Studio will be collecting work on the 21th and 28th of May. All artwork must be submitted by the 28th to be considered. The opening will be held on June 2nd from 6 pm to 10 pm and the show will remain hung for the whole month of June and July. So get out and take some photos, get messy in paint, grab your charcoal and pencils, whatever medium you choose and capture Bristol the way you interpret it! As Ginger shared “Let us all get together and see Bristol through each other’s eyes, through a different perspective and enjoy a new view!”
