Bristol Farmer’s Market Returns to the Patch!

June 9, 2016

We are excited to announce the return of the Bristol Farmer’s Market to the Patch Downtown at the corner of North Main St and Riverside Ave! The market will be held each Saturday from June 25th through October 29th from 10 am to 1 pm (no longer on Wednesdays).

2016-Bristol-Connecticut-Farmers-marketLast year the market debuted at The Patch, a green space designed by the City to support community programming, when it moved from Route 6 to be a foundational block to build vibrancy in the heart of downtown Bristol.

After a successful run last year, the market returns with Bristol All Heart taking the reigns, the community marketing initiative of the Bristol Chamber and City of Bristol.

“We talked with the Northwest Family Farm Cooperative who did a great job over the years, but they’re so busy with their farming operations that it’s tough to juggle it all,” said Mark Walerysiak Jr, Brand & Marketing Manager for Bristol All Heart. “We saw that and explained our desire to build a support and volunteer infrastructure to make this thing huge over time, so to allow our budding team to steward things, that way they can do what they do best and the market can be even stronger.”

Ultimately the vision for the Market is to create a regional destination in downtown Bristol through a communal experience each weekend where people can connect with community members and local producers like farmers, artisans, crafters, food vendors, non profits, businesses, and more. Products range from farm fresh veggies, fruits and products of Gresczyk Farms, to honey and eggs from Farm All Farm, Pickles, Jams, Jellies, and Cheese of Twin Pines Farm, handcrafted soaps from Ridge Runner Soaps, and more!

“We envision the Farmer’s Market being a great starting point toward growing into a larger market, where you have a foundation of vendors, but also transient ones where it’s like must-see-tv— you have to tune in teach week to see what’s there,” said Walerysiak. “Over time toss in children’s programming, live music, a few tables, chairs, hot food vendors, a drink vendor, and all of a sudden you have an organic piazza that people will travel to. That’s where we’d like to head, and we’d love help getting there.”

Bristol All Heart encourages anyone in the community interested in building the Bristol Farmer’s Market to email mark@bristolallheart.com, and any interested vendors to contact jessica@bristolallheart.com.
