Visit, Eat & Stay in Bristol Through the Eyes of a Local

Bristol resident and third-grade teacher, Kimberly Jo Alvarado, is attending Quinnipiac University’s online program for Instructional Design. In her class, Producing Educational Video and Digital Training, Alvardo was prompted with a project to highlight things in her town in 2 minutes or less. The goal of the project was to teach the class how to film, edit, and produce their own videos.

Alvarado has always been inspired by all that Bristol has to offer. She grew up in the activities of Bristol and moved to Bristol in 2011. She shared, “My favorite place to visit in Bristol is Lake Compounce. My 2-year-old daughter and I go at least once a week!”

Alvarado chose to highlight the “wonderful places to visit, eat, and stay in Bristol.” The video is comprised up of video and photos that Alvarado took herself, a script she wrote and recorded, along with photos from local websites. She also completed the post production of the video. Alvarado chose to highlight attractions that include Lake Compounce, The New England Carousel Museum, The American Clock and Watch Museum, and Imagine Nation, A Museum Early Learning Center. She also highlighted local favorites Parkside Cafe, 457 Mason Jar, 150 Central and Firefly Hollow Brewing.

The video concludes by saying, “Now that you know what Bristol has, be sure to book yourself a room at the DoubleTree Hotel and experience all that Bristol has to offer.” Lucky for Bristol residents, we live here and get to enjoy the wonderful attractions and restaurants that Bristol has daily! Thank you, Kimberly, for sharing your portrayal of Bristol with Bristol All Heart!
