New Centre Square Website, Visioning Survey, and Community Engagement Event!

July 14, 2016 The Bristol Development Authority (BDA), in partnership with planning consultant Milone & MacBroom, is conducting a master planning process as part of the redevelopment of Centre Square. the former Depot Square and Bristol Centre Mall site. As part of this process, the BDA has launched a website devoted to the project and is highlighting two methods for the public to get involved: the online Downtown Visioning Survey and a Public Visioning Session on Tuesday, July 19.

Log on to the new www.bristolcentresquare.com to learn about the project and to follow its development. New information will be added in the coming months. Residents, business owners, visitors to the City, and all interested parties are encouraged to visit the website regularly.

Included on the website is the Downtown Bristol Visioning Survey, an interactive survey in which users can participate in the visioning process for Centre Square by offering suggestions and feedback for the site’s redevelopment. Click Survey at the top of the home page to begin the process. The direct link to the survey is https://bristolcentresquare.com/survey

The first Public Visioning Session for Centre Square will be held on Tuesday, July 19th from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Rockwell Park. Please come early and share your thoughts and ideas prior to the Rockin Out at Rockwell Park summer concert series. The concert will run from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Look for the Centre Square booth near the amphitheater and the Pequabuck River bridge. In the event that the concert is rained out, the workshop will be postponed until Wednesday July 20th.

The master planning project will create a redevelopment plan for Centre Square that connects to, and integrates well with, the existing Downtown. The goal of the project is to determine how the site may be redeveloped, what the City can do to facilitate such development, and how the City can ensure a cohesive, vibrant, and pedestrian-friendly Downtown.
