Hamelin & Sons Inc. Celebrates 70 Years in Business

July 13, 2016

“Hamelin & Sons Inc. is celebrating its 70th year of servicing Bristol’s automotive needs. Founded in 1946 by Ernest and George Hamelin, the business was purchased by Moe Hamelin in 1978, and in 1984 by Moe’s sons, David and Michael. The business has expanded through the years from a two bay corner gasoline station to a six bay, full service, and repair facility and Emissions test center.

Hamelin & Sons offer complete automotive services and repairs for most makes and models. Their state of the art, fully air conditioned facility is completely modernized and up to date with the latest diagnostic equipment, vehicle maintenance and repair information, and computerized customer records. While specializing in hightech emissions repairs and electronic diagnostics, they offer competitively priced repairs on brakes, exhaust, suspension, oil change services, general repairs and emissions testing.

Michael and David are both A.S.E Certified Master Technicians. Michael is the shop lead technician and was a top 20 national finalist for the NAPA/ASE Technician of the Year in 1991. David is the office customer service and parts manager and book-keeper. The business currently has 5 full-time employees including a full-time emissions inspector.

Both partners are active in their communities. Michael serves on the board of finance and the Golf committee at the Farmington Woods Master Condo Association. David is President at The West End Association and serves on the board of directors for Wheeler Clinic.”
