Bristol Solarize Deadline Approaching

January 5, 2017

The Solarize Bristol program is slated to end February 9th, so anyone who wants to install solar on their home through the program needs to participate soon.

The final Solarize Bristol workshop for local homeowners will be on Wednesday, January 18th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm in the Bristol Public Library at 5 High St.

Homeowners will be educated on recent advancements in solar technology, the viability for solar in Connecticut, home compatibility, and will be introduced to All Green it Solar—the selected solar installer for the City of Bristol.

To qualify for the Solarize Bristol pricing, homeowners must sign a contract by February 9th.

The purpose of Solarize Bristol is to make the installation of solar arrays more affordable for residents. To do this, the City and the Mayor’s Task Force on Energy Consumption selected one installer to work with Bristol residents, in exchange for discount pricing.

In addition to the reduction in equipment pricing, Solarize Bristol offers free site assessments at solarizect.com/Bristol and 0%-down financing for qualified residents; systems added through the program come with 25-year warranties.

Carol Janak, a Bristol solar owner reveals, “We went solar to save money and have a set bill each month as well as environmental concerns. No more worrying that a bill will come in real high because of heavy AC or furnace use. We could not be more pleased with our system. The system is projected to be 9.75 kW, but we have gotten 10.26 kW this past year, so it is producing more than 100% of our annual electricity needs.”

Residents who are considering solar and want to talk to other Bristol residents with solar about their experience or look at local solar installations can contact Chamae Mejias at 860-331-1041.
