“The Bristol Gem and Mineral Club is a not-for-profit organization whose goals are to promote the scientific study of physical and historical geology; the appreciation and preservation of rocks and minerals; to learn and perpetuate the lapidary arts; and to increase the knowledge of members and the community in the earth sciences and lapidary arts.

The club is open to all people interested in rocks, minerals, lapidary, or other earth science fields. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday each month at the Douglas Beals Bristol Senior/Community Center, 240 Stafford Ave., Bristol, CT 06010, beginning at 7:00pm. The club sponsors monthly field trips to collect minerals in the warm months as well as an annual show which is typically held the 3rd weekend of October. Jointly with the Lapidary and Mineral Society of Central CT, the club runs a lapidary center for members interested in cutting and polishing stones.”
