“We provide equine assisted programs to children, youth, adults and veterans. Shepard Meadows is a special place not only to learn and have fun, but to experience an inclusive, positive environment where everyone is welcome and accepted for their individual strengths, regardless of disability. The horse, participant, instructor and volunteers make up a unique team providing an opportunity for physical, emotional, social, recreational, and educational gains. Our programs are led by professional PATH certified instructors. By working together, riders, volunteers, staff and animals create a well-balanced mix of excitement, fun, hard work, adventure and accomplishment. The benefits of partaking in our programs are truly immeasurable. Our facility is located on 26-acres of open meadows and forests. Acreage surrounding our horse pastures, barns, and riding facility is used to plant and harvest hay for Shepard Meadow’s use, and any surplus is sold to support the Center’s operations. In addition to our equine-assisted mission, we are dedicated to the preservation of the environment and the beautiful, serene farm on which we are located. We are not a fully handicap accessible facility at this time, so some ambulation is required.”
