Our mission: Every single child in Bristol is healthy and ready to learn by age five, and achieves developmental and school success by age nine. The Bristol Early Childhood Alliance (BECA) makes every attempt to involve all interested parties of the Bristol community in building awareness of issues affecting young children. BECA desires to maintain a partnership between the Bristol Board of Education, the City of Bristol, the Bristol School Readiness Council, parents, and all community organizations and individuals that seek to improve the quality of life for children. BECA recognizes the distinct responsibilities of its members while relying on the strength of its volunteer members to support its mission.

I bet you already know BECA! Are you a friend of our Making Bristol Better Facebook page? Have your children taken a FREE book from one of the 10 Appetite for Reading Shelves or attended our Polar Express Event? Has your child received an ice cream and book from the Welcome Back to School/Meet Your Principal Neighborhood Program? Have you seen our “It’s too late to wait…READ 20 minutes each day with a child!” or “It’s Time to Register for Kindergarten” yard signs? Participated in Orange Nose Day? Participated in Parent Leadership classes, Community Conversations or Café Conversations? Signed up for Ready4K or Sparkler? These are just some of our activities.

If you would like to attend a BECA meeting to help out, get your voice heard and help make Bristol better, please visit our website or email dkoser@uwwestcentralct.org.
