Carrier Construction, Inc. is working on 32 two-bedroom, market-rate apartment units on Main Street and Summer Street west of the Bristol Public Library. The development will reflect Carrier Construction’s high standards for design and construction, offering renters an option for new construction within the downtown area close to the Bristol Health Medical Care Center, call centers, and other employment centers; retail options; civic organizations; and more. The project aligns with recommended policies within the City’s Plan of Conservation and Development, including the recommendation to encourage provision of new housing units at appropriate locations in downtown Bristol.
City and Chamber leaders joined Carrier Construction leadership at a groundbreaking ceremony on July 22 to celebrate the construction of 32 new apartment units to be built on Main Street within walking distance of downtown.
The 60,000 square foot building will contain 60 units and will feature an innovative “KindCare” brand owned by Senior Living Advisors, LLC (Fairfield, CT). The KindCare community (www.kindcare.com) is an innovative model that will feature rates that are 30% less than most assisted living communities with cutting edge technology to keep residents safe, well, and happy. Design features will include Remote Visitation, Telemedicine, and Ultraviolet air handlers that eliminate 99% of viruses and bacteria in the airspace. A wellness center, restaurant, bistro, media room, walking gardens and many social activities which will all contribute to the residents’ well-being.
The local DoubleTree by Hilton will be constructing a HOME2 hotel, a sophisticated conference/event center appropriate for weddings, corporate events, trainings, and similar gatherings along with an underground parking garage to serve the entire campus. The project includes the construction of an approximately 60,000 square foot HOME2 hotel, 40,000 square foot conference center, and associated parking garage and site improvements. The project encompasses all or a portion of the following properties: 42 Century Drive (part of the existing DoubleTree hotel site), 90 Century Drive, 112 Century Drive, and 150 Century Drive.
