The Value Stream Supervisor will oversee shift day to day activities and meet site KPIs in addition to position goals. Provides leadership for the employees within the shift with a strong focus on safety and quality. They implement lean processes to maximize profitable growth, provides premier customer service, develops a technically qualified workforce, and reduces operating cost and inventories through incremental and substantive continuous improvements.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Maintains a safe working environment for all employees
- Utilizes lean manufacturing tools to implement processes that eliminate manufacturing waste Works closely with management on continuous improvement projects using lean tools (i.e.. Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Setup Reduction) and metrics
- Directly supervises the employees and works cooperatively with other functional managers, supervisors and leaders to optimize the value streams
- Leads the production schedule plan provided by Planning and the Value Stream Manager
- Responsible for training new hires and ensuring operators are cross- training to minimize downtime
- Ensures individual accountability for meeting product quality standards
- Supervises and coordinates activities to ensure production flow and quality control standards for all value streams by solving problems using the A3 method
- Administers company policies, including performance evaluations, attendance, safety reporting, complaints, and routine working rules and regulations
- Works with value streams to minimize rejects and ensures quality processes are followed
- Requests equipment maintenance or repair of tools to maximize production efficiency and minimize down time
- Participates in production machine lay-out planning, and modifications including considerations with respect to production flow, safety, power, and operating requirements
- Leads shift MDI meetings, ensuring consistent messaging across both shifts of employees
- Updates Value Stream Manager on a daily basis of performance for the shift
- Assists employees to resolve problems involving work issues and morale
- Works with point person for shipping and receiving to manage the inventory and cycle counts
- Responsible for the supervision and safety of vendors
- Will lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally
- Works both in a manufacturing and office environment
- Required to work hours other than set shift schedule, including weekends, to support business need
- Additional duties as assigned by Manager or other members of leadership

Shipping

LAB Security Systems: Escomatic Operator
Set-up and operate Escomatic Swiss Screw Machines to produce precision machined components applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, layouts, control plans and machining procedures.
Job Functions:
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and optical comparators.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials (i.e. coil stock) onto machines, adhering to all training and safety guidelines.

- Machine parts to blueprint specifications.

Full Time: Monday-Friday/6am-3pm; up to 45 hours/week

We are seeking an experienced industrial controls programmer/technician to join our AWESOME Manufacturing & Engineering Teams, in Bristol, CT.
This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager and is key to creating new control programs and supporting existing ones to ensure successful daily manufacturing operations. You are responsible for designing, developing, testing and supporting all control programs for machines and database systems. You will also be responsible for attending to minor electrical issues in the manufacturing environment.
Requirements:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience and/or applicable certification in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum two-years of experience with PLC, motion control, and HMI Programming along with basic AC/DC electrical circuit knowledge.
- Skills: Vision systems, Visual Basic, database experience are a plus.
Must be able to read electrical schematics and have a basic understanding of process control. Troubleshooting of machine sensors, switches, valves, etc.
- Computer Literacy: MS Office, Visual Basic or C++; have written at least 2 currently used programs for which can provide evidence of.
