Centre Square will contain a “City Green” or “City Plaza” public gathering space located on roughly one acre of developable land that will remain following private investments on the site. The City has planned for the inclusion of a public gathering area on Centre Square as a destination for community events.
This proposed traditional “downtown style” project will include 12 two-bedroom apartments on upper floors over first floor commercial units, including one dedicated restaurant space.
This mixed-use project, located on roughly 9 acres at 1251 and 1265 Farmington Avenue in the North East section of town, will consist of a 26,000 square-foot medical office building, a 5,500 square-foot fast food restaurant, a 3,500 square-foot car wash, 160 parking spaces, and new sidewalks.
The approved development will contain two four-story buildings that will have 104 apartments in total. Each of the two buildings will have a total of 76,000 square for a total of 152,000 square feet with two elevators. The buildings are designed to have 7,800 square feet of commercial space, with 5,200 square feet set aside for restaurants.
The local DoubleTree by Hilton will be constructing a HOME2 hotel, a sophisticated conference/event center appropriate for weddings, corporate events, trainings, and similar gatherings along with an underground parking garage to serve the entire campus. The project includes the construction of an approximately 90-suite HOME2 Suites by Hilton Hotel, a new 50,000 square foot conference/event center, and associated parking garage and site improvements.
Wheeler Health Headquarters and Facility at Centre Square
The new Wheeler Health facility will serve dual purposes as both a corporate headquarters as well as a community healthcare facility serving children, families, and adults. The building will host 200+ employees.
The 60,000 square foot building will contain 60 units and will feature an innovative “KindCare” brand owned by Senior Living Advisors, LLC (Fairfield, CT). The KindCare community is an innovative model that will feature rates that are 30% less than most assisted living communities with cutting edge technology to keep residents safe, well, and happy.
Construction has commenced on the 154-space parking garage at the corner of Meadow St. and Kelly St. (back of Police Complex). The parking garage will support City Hall and Police Complex functions and serve as parking for 35 Post Office personnel.
The current Bristol City Hall building was completed in 1963 and is more than showing its age. The building layout is inefficient for conducting City business and difficult to navigate for residents and visitors. The building contains outdated HVAC and mechanical components and does not reflect a modern municipal government operation.
