The Memorial Military Museum will present guest speaker retired Air Force Colonel Terry Finnegan who will share stories of the 73 Bristol men who left their hometown to serve in Company D, 102nd Infantry Regiment of the famous 26th “Yankee” Division. April 20-21, 1918 for 24 hours they resisted a German blitzkrieg attack during an historic battle in the ruined village of Seicheprey, France. Eight Bristol men died during those 24 hours. Every citizen in the small town of Bristol was stunned by what happened there. Bristol remembered the heroism and sacrifices by naming the American Legion SEICHEPREY Post 2, by greeting returning soldiers with parades, by erecting a monument, by naming Memorial Boulevard. 100 YEARS LATER, BRISTOL WILL GATHER TO HONOR THE MEMORY OF THOSE WHO WERE IN THE FIRST BATTLE OF MODERN WARFARE.
