Avid Adventures: Tree ID
(for older teens and adults)
Saturday, December 16, 2017
In this older teen and adult program for the month of December, you will have the chance to discuss (with Jessica Maak, ELCCT Volunteer) the uses for and products made out of certain wood species, along with going out for a good-ol’-fashioned tree and shrub ID walk! This will be slightly more challenging as the leaves have fallen from the trees, and you’re welcome to bring your tree ID books if you have them to help out in our expedition.
Jessica Maak came to be a volunteer for ELCCT through her own personal interest in environmental education, sustainability, preservation, and the overall joy it gives her to be involved in outreach programs in general. Jessica has worked for DEEP at Sleeping Giant State Forest, Nature’s Classroom, and The National Audubon Society at Bent of the River, and is currently a preschool teacher.
