Community Planting Day

Join BPRYCS staff on Saturday, November 5, 2022, for a community planting day at the new urban garden on Memorial Boulevard. Community Members will assist in planting over 50 shrubs in order to provide low growth biodiversity in the renovated space.

The planting will be led by BPRYCS Landscape Gardener Steven Schriver and Deputy Superintendent Sarah Larson and will include information about urban forests and the ecological benefits the Memorial Boulevard Urban Garden provides.

What to bring:
Full water bottle
Gardening gloves (some spares will be available)
Long pants/trousers
Enclosed footwear
Hat and sun protection (sunscreen)

Meeting location: Memorial Boulevard Urban Garden at the corner of Memorial Boulevard and Mellen Street.

Parking: There is limited parking on Wozenski Way, so parking off of South Street or at Bristol Intradistrict Arts Magnet School (BIAMS) is advised. Please take care when crossing roads.

Participation is Free and Registration is not required.

This project was made possible by a grant through the CT Urban Forest Council provided by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Division of Forestry and funded by the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.
