Film & Discussion: The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks

A special program in observance of Black History Month and in partnership with the Bristol Historical Society. Henrietta Lacks became an unwitting pioneer for medical breakthroughs when her cells were used to create the first immortal human cell line in the early 1950s. A case with social and bio-ethical concerns for every generation. Historical background & discussion followed by film screening.
