UCONN graduate student, Ryan Munasinghe, will present a talk about how early industrial manufacturing emerged out of the artisan system in the lower Connecticut River valley. His presentation will include the production of chairs, clocks, swords, guns, and axes.
Ryan said, “One of my many aims with this event is to illustrate the ways in which local history can help us understand global history. Connecticut is fundamentally important to the story of the Industrial Revolution.”
