In November, the Mayor’s Youth Cabinet will visit the Public Works Department and meet Street Superintendent, Jason Morrocco, who will provide an overview of how the Streets Maintenance and Snow Removal Division works to ensure traveling on the local streets are safe.
Those attending should meet in the Mayor’s Office at 530. Then at 5:45-everyone will go together to the Public Works department on the ground level. Parents should pick up their Youth Cabinet participants outside of Council Chambers on the main floor at City Hall at 6:45pm.
Bristol young people, ages 10-18, are invited to be part of the Mayor’s Youth Cabinet. The purpose is to connect young people with their government and also allow them to have input on issues that affect them. The meetings will be held each month before the City Council Meeting. There will be different topics each month, and some guests speakers. The meetings will be 45 minutes in length, and members can opt to stay for a part of the City Council meeting which begins at 7pm. This is not a series. Young people are free to attend any and all as their schedules allow.
**As with all Youth Cabinet events, please be sure to RSVP so we can accommodate all participants!
Please note that Nutmeg TV will be taping the Youth Cabinet and airing episodes on their public access station. Participants will be asked to sign waivers. Contact the Mayor’s Office to receive a waiver for signature by parents and/or guardians.
