Can anyone really understand the events of 1917? Professor Jay Bergman of Central Connecticut State University presents an overview of the events and institutions involved in the fall of the Tsar, the Communist takeover in 1917 and the Civil War that followed. Dr. Bergman will also explain how the partial economic freedom permitted by the New Economic Policy in 1921 led to the crackdown on political dissent, inside and outside of the Communist Party. Part three of the A Window on Moscow series.
