Led by Musical Director Rich Theriault and Assistant Musical Director Roberta Verbyla, accompanied by Jane Theriault on piano and a few local musicians, The Bristol Chorale will present “Broadway, Classics, and All That Jazz” on Sunday, May 7 at the Bristol Arts and Innovation Magnet School (BAIMS) Rockwell Theater. The concert begins at 3:00 p.m.
The Chorale will perform a wide variety of music from Broadway—“This Is Me,” “Beauty and the Beast;” choral classics—“Let There Be Music,” “Let the River Run;” jazz—“Take Five,” “Ain’t Misbehavin;” and a live Jazz combo will be playing the Blues.
The group will honor the memory of Bristol’s fallen policemen Dustin DeMonte and Alex Hamzy with a special performance of “Amazing Grace.” Also on the program is a rendition of Irving Berlin’s “God Bless America.”
This concert, slated to be the first performance of a community group in the newly renovated Rockwell Theater, is funded in part by the generous contributions of our advertisers and sponsors. The Chorale would like to acknowledge the D’Amato Construction company for their sponsorship.
The public is encouraged to attend to hear great music and see the beautifully restored theater. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 10 and under, and are available from members of the Chorale, at Michaels Jewelers, or online by visiting the group’s website bristolchoralsociety.org
