Bristol’s passionate sports culture looms large with local sports heroes forever memorialized and continuing to inspire future generations of athletes. Be inspired to reach your sports dreams, and one day make it into the BSHOF!

Beyond the museum locations, you may have seen BSHOF out and about as they are involved in multiple events including the Mum Festival, The Children’s Holiday Parade, and the Bristol’s Library Festival of Trees. Every year the BSHOF co-sponsors the annual Hersey Track and Field event for Bristol’s grammar school students. Today, the BSHOF sponsors the Bristol Scholar Athlete program created by former Executive Director, Jack Hines. The award is presented to not only a top athlete but also athletes who excel in their scholastic achievements. In addition, the BSHOF also presents the Joe McGinn Award each year, which honors an individual who has overcame all obstacles in their life. The award is in memory of McGinn as he lost his lifelong battle with kidney disease.
